That Mark Coleman smile. It lit up our lives, especially when he talked about his wife JoAnn and daughter Maddie. Mark was a Men’s Club member, but going back more than 20 years, we all became family. Mark had his regular group, but also made the effort to play with as many as possible. He had a self-deprecating sense of humor and was quick to tell anyone about the balls marked “M” that he left all over the course.  

On this day, Kacy, Andrew, and Bob played with Mark. One of his last rounds at the club. It was just before Thursday,  January 11th when our good friend was suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us.

Mark would be found in the grill room with a chardonnay waiting at round’s end. There he would happily greet everyone. This past Saturday, staff from the grill room set up a tribute. Close friends hugged, told stories, and we toasted this great loss in our extended family. Your Braemar family loved you, Mark. We’ll never be the same.

** The quote at the beginning of the tribute for Mark is from the poem “In Memoriam” by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Lord Tennyson was the Poet Laureate for the British Empire in the mid 1800’s. His poetry sentimental and emotional. “In Memoriam” was a tribute to a good friend, Arthur Hugh Hallam, also a poet.
